Genomics
The Genomics unit of LAFUGA is focused on array-based transcriptome analyses to study differential gene expression on the mRNA level. This is currently the most sensitive and comprehensive approach to study expression in a highly parallel mode. The Genomics unit is equipped with state-of-the-art Affymetrix technology for genome-wide analyses of gene expression. As second platform a combination of subtracted cDNA libraries and cDNA array hybridization is used as a universal approach for transcriptome studies in species where no commercial microarrays are available. This approach is less expensive and more sensitive offering an outstanding dynamic range.
